What is Secret Weapon?
Secret Weapon is a surfboard coating that chemically bonds to water. You put it on the bottom of your board and it traps a thin layer of water against it. Your board rides on this thin layer of water and friction is virtually eliminated.
Based on a patent protected formula used in the medical industry, Secret Weapon is non-toxic and biodegradable. It was originally developed to work on medical devices that travel inside the human body. It will not harm your surfboard or the environment.

Your board feels normal when dry but wet it feels more like a fish than a piece of fiberglass. You’ll also feel it catching waves, flying through turns, and finding that extra gear you might not have known you had.

Q:Is this like Rain-X?
A: It is the opposite of a product like Rain-X. Those products are hydrophobic (water repelling) and while that works well for beading up water droplets on a windshield, it does not help a surface moving through water. In fact all the water that gets pushed off the surface creates more friction and turbulence as it disrupts the water it is passing through. A hydrophilic (water loving) coating keeps a thin layer of water next to it. This layer of water glides effortlessly through the water around it.
Q: How long does it last?
A: Initial testing is finding that on average, surfers are getting benefits from 2 to 4 weeks per application. Coverage can be extended with a new coat or simply by touching up sections that have worn off.
Q: Can I remove it?
A: Sure, A garden hose and scrub brush/kitchen pad plus a little elbow grease can be used to clean it off.
